About Our Church
Since its inception in 1881, First Baptist Poplarville has been a warm and welcoming place for people to gather as a community in dedication to Jesus Christ. The church has been at its current location since 1931, but God is certainly moving in the here and now. We're excited to see how the Lord will grow and use the church next, and we hope you'll join us!
Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Kipp Smith and his wife, Gina, have been at First Baptist Poplarville since January 2017. Kipp is from Baton Rouge, LA and Gina is from
Hattiesburg, MS.
Kipp and Gina are graduates of William Carey University and Kipp has a Masters in Religious Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Kipp and Gina have served churches in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Nebraska.
Kipp and Gina have been married since 1983. Their family includes 3 children, a daughter in law, a son in law, six grandchildren, and a Yorkie named Mando.
